The famous fast trains of German Rail, called ICE or InterCityExpress, have an excellent reputation. Both Dresden and Leipzig are connected to their network. From Dresden, Leipzig can be reached in an hour. Leipzig to Berlin is 1 hr and 15 minutes. Frankfurt is just 3 ½ hrs away, Munich 5 hrs. The EuroCity (EC) train connects Dresden with major cities such as Berlin, Prague, Vienna and Budapest. Dresden can also be reached from Amsterdam, Zurich and Copenhagen in comfortable CityNightLine (CNL) trains. From Leipzig, most other places of Reformation are within easy reach by train. Wittenberg is just 30 min away, Torgau 45 min, Erfurt 1 hr 15 min and Eisenach 1 hr 45 min. Public transport in Germany is very well developed. From Dresden, for example, both Meissen and the Saxon Switzerland National Park can be reached by commuter trains in 45 min every half hour.
